Complete Car Inspection
When your doing a road trip very small things can lead to major inconveniences,
Fixing small things such as damaged wiper blades, foggy headlights, topping off fluids and getting an oil change before leaving can make all the difference when travelling.Â
We like to begin our car inspections from the outside, begin by doing a walk-around of your vehicle.Â
Do all your lights work, are the blinkers working, emergency lights and don’t forget about brake lights.
Take a look at your headlights, are they foggy or are they clear, will you be able to see on a dark highway with those lights?
After conducting a thorough check on your lights, check your tire pressure to make sure there are no leaks. Nothings worse than going out then having to buy tyres on the go.
Then you can check the engine, how’s the motor oil, Is the windshield wiper fluid topped off? What other fluids can you check to make sure you will have smooth travels.
Checking the interior is fairly straightforward, you want to look for trouble areas and just make sure that the car is clean enough for you to travel those long hours.

Whats The Worst That Can Happen?
You always want to prepare for the absolute worst thing that can happen, take some time to think of what troubles you may face on this trip.
We always travel with a portable battery booster that doubles as a tire inflater, carrying blankets, snacks and portable phone chargers can also help.
You really want to prep depending on where your going, think hard for any disaster scenarios and pack as needed.
Packing some extra motor oil or radiator fluid can also help incase any of the lights appear on your dash and you are far from a motorshop.
Asides from prepping for different situations a general emergency kit should be prepared for every car.
If you do not have paint protection film on your car you can expect to get paint chips on your car
Carrying Emergency Kits
It doesn’t matter where your headed, a general emergency kit should be kept in every car.
A general emergency kit should carry bandaids, antiseptic wipes, adhesive tape, medical wrap, flares or reflective triangles, blanket, multi tool such as a knife and bottled water.
You can also addÂ
- Jumper cables
- Ice scraper and snow brush
